The Tamil Methodist Church in Short Street is celebrating its 125th Anniversary this year with a series of events and celebrations. The church is the second-oldest Methodist church in Singapore.
Plans for the anniversary celebration include a commemorative DVD, and a community celebration featuring a carnival-style outreach that features free health screenings as well as games. There will also be a chance for both English and Tamil-speaking people to write and submit their original hymns as well as a the burying of a time capsule that will be opened in 2038.
In conjunction with the anniversary, the church has launched a new website with a redesigned church logo and a timeline of the major moments in the history of the church.
