World Methodist Council Vice-President Bishop Sarah F. Taylor Davis will be invested as President of the Council of Bishops of the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AMEC) on June 24, 2013, in Kingston Jamaica, during a special Investiture Worship Celebration.
World Methodist Council General Secretary, Bishop Ivan Abrahams has been invited to bring greetings.
The Connectional AME Church will travel to Kingston Jamaica for its General Board meeting that will be hosted by Bishop Davis and the 16th Episcopal District. Bishops of the AME Church will participate in the worship celebration where the Reverend Dr. Claudette Copeland will bring the Investiture message and Bishop John Richard Bryant, Senior Bishop, will be the worship leader. Bishop Davis will serve as President of the Council of Bishops for one year. This position is conferred on Bishops in order of their election.
