As a result of the continued growth of the Methodist Church in Brazil and in particular The First Methodist Conference in Rio de Janeiro, forty four pastors and six Deaconesses were ordained and consecrated in February 2014.
Two ceremonies were held, one on February 15 and another on Feb 22, at Cascadura Methodist Church and the Catete Methodist Cathedral.
In an atmosphere of gratitude to God, praise and worship, the message was given by Bishop Paulo Lockmann (who also serves as President of the World Methodist Council). The Bishop emphasized the commitment and responsibility of those who answer the call to serve God and his discipleship always guided by the Holy Spirit for the expansion of His Kingdom.
The World Methodist Council would like to congratulate the Methodist Church in Brazil on their continued growth and expansion in serving their church family, as well as those who were ordained and consecrated into service.
