World-renowned evangelist Dr. Billy Graham celebrated his 96th birthday on 7 November, and the World Methodist Council is also joining in the chorus of well-wishes.
Dr. Graham, a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, has devoted his life to travelling the globe letting others know about Christ. His life and ministry have shaped and continues to shapes the world.
A longtime-friend of the World Methodist Council, Dr. Graham met and shared personal time with former General Secretary Dr. Joe Hale, and Dr. H. Eddie Fox of World Methodist Evangelism.
“It is my joy to have served on the faculty of the Billy Graham Schools of Evangelism for more than 15 years. I was able to lecture on ‘Preaching for Response’ to thousands of pastors from many denominations of churches from across the world,” said Dr. H. Eddie Fox, Director Emeritus of World Methodist Evangelism.
As the Council expanded into the former Soviet bloc countries of eastern Europe, Rev. Graham’s ministry was always nearby, sharing in faith and witness with new believers.
“On more than one occasion he would send a message of encouragement to us. We joined with him and leaders around the world in a great gathering at the beginning of this new millennium for a renewed, deeper commitment to the spreading of the good news ‘That the whole world would know Jesus Christ,’” added Dr. Fox.
As Billy Graham celebrates his 96th birthday, the World Methodist Council would like to extend every best wish to one of God’s most gracious servants.
