As result of the significant growth of the Methodist Church in Brazil a new Conference was established, the first new Conference in 50 years, and it will be known as the Seventh Conference of the Methodist Church in Brazil.
The decision was made in November, when Methodist representatives of nine the other districts within the church gathered in Extraordinary Council for this specific purpose at the School of Missions in Teresopolis.
According to Bishop Paul Lockmann, this is a milestone in the life of the Brazilian Methodist Church since the last ecclesiastical Conference has been established 50 years ago. According to him, among the achievements involving the initiative are “multiplying the investment potential and missionary care.”
The World Methodist Council would like to congratulate the Methodist Church in Brazil on their continued growth and expansion of their mission.
