In anticipation of a busy 2015, the World Methodist Council’s Officers met at Methodist House in London, UK from February 2nd-4th.
Among the items discussed was the nominations process for the 2016-2021 quinquennium, the Council’s finances and an update on the planning of the 2016 World Methodist Conference in Houston, Texas. The Officers also met with representatives from the Methodist Church in Great Britain as well as trustees of the Epworth Old Rectory.
“The yearly meeting of the Officers of the World Methodist Council provides a great opportunity to lay the foundation for a productive year ahead. Although our time together is brief, we work together to ensure that the Council’s mission and focus remains clear,” said General Secretary Ivan Abrahams in a statement.
The Officers in attendance were Council President Paulo Lockman, Interim Vice-President Gillian Kingston, General Secretary Ivan Abrahams and CFO/Treasurer Kirby Hickey. The Steering Committee of the World Methodist Council is scheduled to meet in September 2015 in Houston, Texas.
