Bishops Pedro Correa Montecinos (Methodist Church of Chile) and Frank de Nully Brown (Evangelical Methodist Church Argentina) have signed an agreement to provide pastoral care for the sisters and brothers of the city of Rio Gallegos.
The agreement appoints Pastor Ariel Vega Rivera of Puerto Natales in Chile, to make monthly visits and support different methods of communication.
The pastoral work during 2015 will focus on domestic work, assisting and accompanying the Methodist community that already exists in Rio Gallegos. The priority will be the
home location of the new community “El Redentor”, contacting Chileans residents,
and missionary outreach in the local community.
Among prospective work, consideration will be given to joint Argentinian-Chilean meetings, especially for youth conferences.
The Argentina Methodist Church will continue to make two annual visits and obtaining the necessary resources for the development of the work.
The community of Rio Gallegos has gathered continuously for over 15 years and are a witness to the Gospel in that southern area.
We pray to the Lord to renew and strengthen the mission of the Church.
