In 2015 the Methodist Church of Ghana has been busy celebrating 180 years of ministry.
In July, a commemorative concert with the theme “Methodism Was Born in Song,” was held at the National Theatre in Accra. Rt Rev Dr. Kwaku Asamoah Okyere, the Administrative Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, said of the event: “Methodism was indeed born in song, and this well produced choral festival is proof that this is a heritage worth preserving. I trust that we can effectively pass on this rich music heritage to the next generation.”
Later in the month, the Methodist Church of Ghana held METHOFEST in Sunyania, and various other events were held to celebrate the church’s anniversary. In August, a huge Thanksgiving Service was held at the Black Star Square in Accra.
