As we approach the end of 2015, The World Methodist Council celebrates the Member Churches who have made the Achieving the Vision (ATV) Endowment Fund a priority in their giving. We gratefully acknowledge the following Member Churches who have made contributions to the ATV Fund since the challenge was issued:
- The Methodist Church in Britain
- The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church
- Central and Southern Europe Central Conference of the United Methodist Church
- Germany Central Conference of the United Methodist Church
- Hong Kong Council of the Church of Christ in China
- Methodist Church Nigeria
- Northern Europe and Eurasia Central Conference of The United Methodist Church
- The United Methodist Church, USA
- Wesleyan Methodist Church of New Zealand
Individuals and local congregations who have contributed to the ATV Fund have been privately acknowledged and thanked.
The ATV Fund currently stands at roughly $5.2 million USD, just over one fourth of the total needed to reach the $20 million goal by 2016. The ATV Fund is responsible for funding the work of the World Methodist Council. In 2011 the Council unanimously passed a resolution to challenge member churches to contribute 50 cents per church member to the fund in order to reach a goal of $20 million USD. The investment income from this endowment would allow the World Methodist Council to continue providing for invaluable programs such as the Methodist Liaison Office in Jerusalem and the Methodist Ecumenical Office in Rome, the work and leadership of the WMC General Secretary, Ecumenical Dialogues, The World Methodist Peace Award, The World Methodist Conference, and many others.
You can make a difference in the global work of the World Methodist Council with your gift to the World Methodist Council ATV Fund. No matter how small, all gifts make a difference toward the final goal, and we welcome your support. Consider a gift to the World Methodist Council ATV Fund today, before the year ends. The WMC is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization in the United States, and gifts may be tax deductible depending on the laws and regulations in your country.
