In late October, General Secretary Ivan Abrahams helped commemorate 50 years of ministry at the Goodwood Methodist Church in Cape Town, South Africa. Bishop Abrahams was a guest speaker during the church’s Mission week, during which the church celebrated its golden anniversary, having started from humble beginnings meeting in parishoners’ homes in 1966, and moving to its current location in 1981. The pastor at Goodwood for the past 10 years, Rev Ronnie van Eck, invited Bishop Abrahams to help the church mark this special occasion.
Following the celebration, General Secretary Abrahams stated, “It was great to touch base with colleagues and old friends. I had a very blessed time….Cape Town is my hometown.” Following the visit to Goodwood Methodist Church, Bishop Abrahams left for Tirana, Albania, for a Global Christian Forum Consultation.
