Throughout October and November, the Southeastern United States has been battling wildfires caused by drought and suspected arson. These fires have come within miles of the World Methodist Council headquarters, and have been particularly devastating for some of the more rural, economically depressed areas in the region. The United Methodist Committee on Relief’s response teams are mobilizing in North Carolina, Eastern Tennesse, and North Georgia to begin aid and recovery efforts. You can read more at www.umcor.org.
