The World Methodist Council received word of the death of Revd Peter Bolt, former Secretary of the British Committee of the World Methodist Council, on the 4th of October, 2017. Revd Bolt was a minister in the Methodist Church in Britain, having served as Circuit Superintendent and lead pastor in Exeter, Plymouth and Truro. He was known to be a steadfast, indefatigable presence, often dealing with difficult situations, and leading youth and music ministries with his wife, Joan, throughout their lifetime. Revd Bolt was 91 when he passed on; he is survived by his wife of 71 years, Joan, and two childrenhis message at Bolt’s funeral, Chris and Andy.
Revd Rob Blackhall, Superintendent Minister of Torridge Methodist Circuit, and the Bolt’s pastor stated in his message at Bolt’s funeral, “They [Peter and Joan] radiated God, through their lives, through their energy, through their love.”
