Bishop David R. Daniels, Jr., reports that three church buildings were dedicated in March in the Queenstown Annual Conference, 15th Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. The Bishop Robert Thomas AME Church congregation in Motherwell, Port Elizabeth, South Africa, had been meeting in a shack with metal siding. Through generous gifts, funds were raised to build a new meeting structure. Funds are still being raised for the flooring and ceiling tiles.
The Wilfred J. Messiah Temple AME Church dedication was held on March 23, 2018. Bishop Messiah was the guest preacher and attended with his family. On March 24, the newly-constructed David R. Daniels, Jr. AME Church in Dondrect, South Africa, was also dedicated.
Bishop Daniels praised Presiding Elder N. September of the Queenstown District as one of the visionary and hard-working presiding elders in African Methodism, crediting her with “[catching] the vision of church evangelizing and established new churches for African Methodism. Her commitment is second to none. We praise God for her.”
