Bishop Moisés Domingos Fernandes retired leader of The United Methodist Church in East Angola, died of cancer on 6 April at the age of 78. Bishop Fernandes led the church  through the country’s brutal civil war and endured attempts on his own life, and was described as  a man of “generous and humble spirit”
