Ms. Miriam Mwenya Tshibind died on June 22, 2017, in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo, after a short illness. Ms. Tshibind was the fiance of Bishop Kasap Owan Tshibang of The South Congo Area of The United Methodist Church. Bishop Kasap and Ms. Tshibind were preparing for their wedding set for Sept. 23, 2017. Please keep Bishop Kasap and the South Congo Area in your prayers.
Mrs. Marcia Berry died on June 22, 2017, in Kansas City, Missouri (USA). Mrs. Berry was a delegate to the World Methodist Council for The United Methodist Church, USA from 1996 to 2006, and was a musician, instructor, and Christian Educator. She was a devoted mother, and also served as Director of Christian Education at Maple Street Congregational Church in Danvers, Massachusetts; director of four childcare facilities; and was an adjunct faculty member at Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City. She was a woman of faith, living by the motto, “Lived with Christ; Died with Christ; Raised with Christ!” Mrs. Berry is survived by her husband, Keith Berry, three children, and five grandchildren. The Berry family has requested that memorial gifts be directed to Centennial United Methodist Church and designated for the Youth and Young Adult Committee of the World Methodist Council.
