On the 21st of May, World Methodist Council General Secretary Ivan Abrahams participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open a new exhibit at the Epworth Old Rectory, birthplace of John and Charles Wesley. The exhibit called ‘Over the Rainbow’ relates to the national event held in London in June 1990 organised by British Methodist Women (then called Network), as an act of solidarity with women in South Africa. The exhibition features banners and information about the historic event and its impact. Information about the “Over the Rainbow” event can be found online at http://www.mymethodisthistory.org.uk/page/over_the_rainbow.
Also attending the ribbon cutting ceremony were Mr. Kirby Hickey (WMC Treasurer), Mrs. Sarah Friswell (Chair of the Methodist Heritage Committee for Methodist Church in Britain), as well as the trustees and volunteers of Epworth Old Rectory.
